At present, tourism infrastructure in Quang Ninh has been paid attention to investment: the national electricity grid to Co To island district, renovation and upgrading of national highway 18, repair and upgrading of wharf ports, parks, communication system... Quang Ninh has been focus on development of breakthrough tourism infrastructure, creating the strength of tourism. Recently, Quang Ninh has attracted many strategic partners, big economic groups such as Vingroup, Sungroup, MyWay, FLC, Tuan Chau invested in seaports, high class hotels, amusement parks... With the ability to provide accommodation, entertainment, sea tours and high value content shopping services.
Beside identifying of the World Heritage - World Natural Wonder of Ha Long bay, Bai Tu Long and four provincial tourist centers as centers for the development of marine tourism products, spiritual tourism, border trade tourism, ecotourism, the province has directed the development of a number of new tourism products such as the construction of special cultural performances of local ethnic art and tourism products for cruise passengers to the town of Quang Yen, the village of Yen Duc, Dong Trieu, Yen Tu, Uong Bi... Initially these products have attracted and been valued by visitors. Some products associated with sea sports on the bay such as exploring Ha Long by kayak, seaplane, airship... have been planned on development investment. In recent years, some products have been put into operation such as: Big C supermarket, Metro supermarket, shopping center and entertainment of Vingroup Group, Marina Plaza entertainment area, the Library Museums, restaurants, hotels, transport ships and luxury cruises.
In addition, some community tourism products, experiences at the Quan Lan, Minh Chau (Van Don), Co To and Binh Lieu and Mong Cai border routes have been put into operation. It creates a new look, transforms guests at tourist sites, transfers local cultural identities to tourists, and contributes to the diversification of tourism products. The development of tourism routes and spaces has been carried out both onshore and on the bay, both in the eastern and western regions of the province.
At the same time, Quang Ninh has signed cooperation in tourism development with other areas such as Ha Noi, Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Bac Lieu, Ho Chi Minh city..., create links of tourism routes, and chain of tourism products between local and regional.
Quang Ninh is completing the development of tourism space in four key tourist areas: Ha Long; Mong Cai - Tra Co; Van Don - Co To and Uong Bi - Dong Trieu - Quang Yen; orientation to expand Ha Long tourism space in association with Van Don - Bai Tu Long bay and surrounding areas; development of new tourism spaces in Hai Ha, Co To, Cam Pha, Hoanh Bo, Tien Yen, Binh Lieu... in order to create a diverse tourism product system serving target markets such as Europe, Northeast Asia, North America, South Asia, Middle East…
Quang Ninh now has 1,200 accommodation and service facilities, of which 114 are one to five stars (onshore); 533 cruise ships, of which 200 have boarding facilities; about 250 tourist cars. In terms of travel business, the province has 50 tour operators of the province and 12 branches of the national ones stably running in the area, annually receive about 350,000-400,000 international visitors through land and sea border in the local area.
