Said by Ph.D Nguyen Van Cuong, Director of Vietnam National Museum of History believes that museums contain their own potentials and strength to attract tourists.
Having completed awareness of its role, Vietnam National Museum of History has done its utmost to absorb travelers internationally and domestically. Operation Revolution - Creativity - Specialization has been remarkable effort of this museum.
According to Dr. Nguyen Van Cuong, beside developing searching; collecting and excavating archaeological objects then studying and assess them to be displayed, objects preservation activities is important and necessary. This helps maintain good condition of items and prolong their duration so that providing better experience for visitors. New educational programs have been released, including educational tours for students and automatic guideline system for international tourists.
Mrs Nguyen Thi Thu Hoan - Manager of Education & Public Department proudly said: “Our club named I love history and History lesson has become brand name of Vietnam National Museum of History. These two programs were highly recommended by history teacher, parents and children. They are selected the most by secondary school students and families with children. Vietnam National Museum of History is a truly interestingly educational institution. The museum has applied free audioguide system in English and Vietnamese for self-visitors. This idea was highly appreciated because of solving problems about limited amount of bilingual guides. Wide and deep knowledge contained in this device will offer visitors comprehensive information along with valuable archaeological items.
Mrs Hoan gives supplement information that in the next future (early of the third quarter in 2017); the museum continually adds Chinese and other languages to serve more various customers. At the same time, a wide range of useful equipment will be set up to decrease noise and overload.
Defining that not only displayed objects but display method create attraction and charming, Vietnam National Museum of History has incessantly innovated for ages. Collections are divided into groups within annals or focusing on highlighting colors, shapes, lines, sound and light… These extra effects add more aesthetic value to objects. Otherwise, a lot of surplus services for example souvenirs made by tourists or simulated real items and catering is a plus.
