You can not help being overwhelmed by the serenity of Van Mieu (Temple of Literature) and Quoc Tu Giam (National University) from the moment you pass through its towering gates. The One pillar pagoda has lotus architecture, relating to Buddhism. Among Hoan Kiem lake lies Ngoc Son temple. After praying at Tran Quoc pagoda (top 4 most marvelous pagoda of Ha Noi), it’s highly recommend that tourists indulge themselves with sunset at West lake. Hoa Lo prison was a prison used by the French colonists in Vietnam for political prisoners, and later by North Vietnam for U.S. Prisoners of War during the Vietnam War. Ha Noi streetfood was listed as Asia’s one of ten greatest food cities by CNN. This food paradise can satisfy even the most demanding visitor with beef noodles, kebab rice noodles, stuffed pancake, spring roll, bread… and a lot of other cuisines varies from popular restaurants to luxury ones.
Ha Noi Tourism Center for Information and Promotion (28 Hang Dau street, Hoan Kiem): It provides information about destinations in Ha Noi and other provinces, as well as tours to these destinations. Tourists can book tours with many travel companies through the centre. The centre will offer four free walking tours to discover the Old Quarter and the space around Hoan Kiem lake, including a tour of Ha Noi’s outstanding architectural works and another to study the capital’s history and culture.
