Quang Ninh Planning, Exhibition and Display Palace is given a particularly striking design by Ha Long bay by architect Salvador, and was commenced and inaugurated in January 2017. The building has a total floor area of nearly 21,000sqm and comprises two wings connected together with elevators, escalators and staircases. The first wing resembles a clam and has two floors, which are meant for events, fairs, displays and exhibitions of regional planning. The second wing resembles a giant dolphin that stretches 320m and widens sometimes up to 45m, and is used to display master plans and outstanding architectural and spiritual works.
The construction is also meant for cultural exchanges, fairs and domestic and international trading promotions in association with other works such as October 30 Square, museum, library, children cultural palace and Lan Be park into a tourist complex to allure visitors to tour related to Quang Ninh province.
Planning Palace is set to have a display and trade promotion center of Quang Ninh, which consists of 250 booths in total on the first floor, which displays agricultural products, handicrafts, tourist products toward a proper tourist fair, trade promotions and shopping market for the locals in Quang Ninh and domestic and foreign visitors alike. A meeting room of over 900 seats enables to host conferences, seminars or concerts… In addition, the center also focuses on development of new tourist products and events to allure more visitors, including trade promotion activities, product branding, fashion shows, cultural festivals, street events, markets, musicals, circus, 3D light displays, outdoor concerts, education oriented activities, food courts, retail shops, souvenir stores or duty-free shops…
Given its golden location, Quang Ninh Planning, Exhibition and Display Palace is fit for development of MICE tourist products, which combine conferences, meetings and tours and exhibition in order to stimulate spending and boost revenues for tourist industry. The largest tourist event of the ASEAN namely Travex 2019 is due to be hosted in Quang Ninh and the Quang Ninh Planning, Exhibition and Display Palace will be the venue for its major events. On the other hand, Van Don airport as well as Hanoi – Haiphong highway and new traffic routes to be due for operation in the future will be favorable connections to bring Ha Noi and neighboring provinces closer and connect the international community to the Quang Ninh Planning, Exhibition and Display Palace.
