As the host of the National Tourist Year, Quang Ninh in 2018 is poised to embrace a big influx of domestic and foreign visitors since it boasts Ha Long – a new natural wonder of the world. The most notable event out of all events hosted throughout 2018 in Quang Ninh is the opening ceremony of the “National Tourist Year 2018 – Ha Long, Quang Ninh”, and the Carnival Ha Long 2018 hosted in Ha Long park (Ha Long city), due to be held on April 28, 2018. A special feature is that the closing ceremony is to be linked to the opening ceremony of the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF 2019) also to be held in Quang Ninh, a key event for the tourist sector of Southeast Asian countries.
Throughout 2018, there will be all across localities in Quang Ninh over 40 cultural, sport and tourist activities such as Yen Tu festival, the 2nd Cultural and Sport Week of ethnic communities in the northeast of Quang Ninh, Van Don Festival, 1st Quang Ninh Open Paragliding Festival… In addition, there are also lots of events and festivities hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the local authorities in celebration of this year.
Quang Ninh authorities have made decent preparations for events of the National Tourist Year 2018 as well as ensured best services for both domestic and international tourists. Many commercial complexes, department stores and recreational areas in hotels, resorts or accommodation units are extending their arms in full welcome. Aside the most famous landmark of Ha Long bay, Quang Ninh province also has over registered 30 routes and nearly 90 destinations across 12 localities of the province, which form 4 key tourist product lines, namely sea tourism, borderline and commercial tourism, religious tourism and ecological and community tourism. Besides, infrastructure to connect traffic roads, waterway and airway between Quang Ninh and other regions nationwide will also be completed to facilitiate travelling the most.
