Visit Vietnam Year 2018 is a special event whose scale is not only domestic but international. It has effect on multiple sectors such as culture, economy, society and particularly tourism. The Visit Vietnam Year 2018 is a crucial opportunity to present Viet Nam’s tangible and intangible heritage, resources and culture. It is expected to draw more foreign tourists to Viet Nam and bolster growth of domestic tourists to Quang Ninh making a breakthrough in hospitality and related fields.

Accordingly, more than 100 events in sport, culture, commerce and hospitality will take place throughout 2018 in which the grand opening ceremony of The Visit Vietnam Year 2018 - Ha Long, Quang Ninh, Carnaval Ha Long 2018 held in Sun World Ha Long Complex on April 28^th, 2018, the closing ceremony of The Visit Vietnam Year 2018 in association with the grand opening of ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF 2019), Ha Long - FLC Open Golf Prize occurred in FLC Ha Long Resort (Hong Hai ward, Ha Long city, Quang Ninh province) in January, 2019 are key highlights.

In preparation for The Visit Vietnam Year 2018, Quang Ninh pays attention to infrastructure, amenities, exclusive tourism products, broad experience and other various resources. Currently, nearly 2000 organizations including enterprises, co-operatives, private businesses take part in hospitality, accounting for 23.000 direct labors and 37.000 indirect labors. Up to now, Quang Ninh has capacity of 19.000 rooms (17.000 rooms on land, 1.900 rooms on cruises, over 500 boats with 22.000 seats and nearly 300 buses with more than 8.000 seats. There are 4 tourism spaces in Quang Ninh with  their specific products: Ha Long city tourism space relates to Ha Long bay; Mong Cai - Tra Co space relates to frontier tourism; Van Don - Co To space relates to island tourism, luxury resort with casino; Uong Bi city, Dong Trieu town and Quang Yen town relates to cultural, spiritual tourism as well as village and community-based tourism. Quang Ninh province has recognized 33 routes and 87 spots across province. In addition, Quang Ninh authorities continuously connect and expand tourism space in other provinces, cities and tourism centers in adjacent region.

Until now, a wide range of services has been used and brings good results, for example: Vincom Ha Long Centre, Ha Long Marina Plaza, cable project in Ngoa Van pagoda, Ho Thien (Dong Trieu), Sun World Ha Long Complex; 5-star resorts like Vinpearl, Ha Long Bay Resort, Wyndham, Hoang Gia...; hotels, restaurants, cruises, boats...; Quang Ninh Exhibition of Planning and Expo Center (Project Stadium), provincial museum - library, 30-10 Square, Ha Long Park (Ha Long); Sa Vi frontier information center (Mong Cai)...

Both local government and citizens of Quang Ninh province have implemented principles of behavior called “Ha Long smile” with aim at changing tourism perception into positive way, therefore making Quang Ninh a wonderful image as the theme Ha Long - Heritage, Wonder, Friendly Destination of The Visit Vietnam Year 2018.

The Visit Vietnam Year 2018 is expected to be resoundingly successful and it is also a promising project to capital absorption, strongly promote tourism developing connection among countries and regions which helps improve position and image of Viet Nam in general and Quang Ninh’s in particular.
