The program is organized by the Hue Monuments Conservation Center. The program begins at 7:00 a.m. on August 30th, 2022, in a variety of locations. The program layout consists of 3 parts: Expressing gratitude to the god of art and performing at Thanh Binh Tu Duong; demonstration of ancient tuong at Nghinh Luong village hall; street performances.
Hueʼs Thanh Binh Tu Duong was built in 1825 as a place to worship the gods consecrated as Thanh Su, Tien Su, To Su, and the individuals with great contributions to Hue’s Tuồng stage art and the Central region. The gratitude ceremony in the program is run in accordance with the traditional ritual. The program was attended by the Tuồng mask team in traditional costumes, holding flags, lanterns, parasols, gongs, and drums, along with the Hue royal refined music and Bat Dat martial arts marching and performing on the street. For the first time in the Hue festival, the actors will play the Tuồng character, dressed in ancient costumes and masks, creating a strange and appealing image for the first time.
The highlight of the show is the actors playing the Tuồng character, wearing character costumes and masks, creating a strange and attractive image. For the first time in Hue, there was a formation of Tuồng characters paraded on the street, with colourful performances showing the beauty of Tuồng costume. The procession will travel from Thanh Binh from the road through Chi Lang street, Tran Hung Dao street, and to Nghinh Luong Dinh street.
This program is expected to create an interesting experience for visitors visiting Hue and attending the Hue festival, contributing to promoting the image of Hue's cultural heritage in the tourism community.
