During the ripening rice season, on the terraced fields leading up the mountains, the colours of autumn are appearing in yellow curves and lines that will definitely impress anyone coming here, even artists. From time to time, between ripe rice fields, you can find green-coloured patches, creating a perfect mixture of colour, a truly amazing sight. You can also see the "ocean" of golden rice grains – the ripening rice that promises a new and bountiful autumn. Besides, there are the majestic mountains and hillsides standing one after another, glowing in a rich yellow color. From a distance, the sight of the terraced fields winding around the mountain, each step leading from the valley to the deep blue sky, is nothing less than stunning. In the early morning, the fields will be filled with a mysterious fog. Clouds seem to swoop down above the fields. At noon, the sunshine spread out on the golden valley... Everyday, the land is like a paradise on earth among the terraced fields, emanating warmth and happiness.
Every year, October is the best month to visit this land and marvel at the "visually impressive sight" of the Northwest terraced field. Besides the terraced fields, the mountain range also leaves visual impressions that have attracted many tourists around the world to come to admire and experience. Not only that, the people of Mong, Dao, Nung, Giay... with traditions and experiences passed over through hundreds of years, are still creating and taking care of those majestic "steps to the sky", contributing to create an endless source of inspiration for visitors to explore.
The terraced fields are not natural. They are originally mountains that have been leveled, built, and added water supply by the hands of the people of the Northwest region over hundreds of years. Every year in May, our countrymen take advantage of the first rains of the summer to lead the water from the mountains into the fields, putting a shining brown coat on the mountains and hills. In that harsh sunshine, the mountains change into the fresh green color of young rice. When the rice was ripe, they gave off an irresistable fragrance while dying the mountains with golden dye... At this time, the Northwest terraced fields gradually change into a warm, bright, and soulful color, leading the footsteps of tourists to enjoy the cold mountain mist, stretching to take in the amazing smell of ripening rice... After every turn, mountain and hill, there is a golden valley waiting, inviting travelers.
